Sita Rama Kalyanam commemorates the divine wedding of Lord Sri Rama and Goddess Sita, one of the most revered events in Hindu tradition. Their sacred union represents the ideal marriage, symbolizing love, respect, devotion, and righteousness.

Lord Rama and Sita Devi are honored as the perfect couple and role models for humanity, demonstrating the values of dharma, fidelity, and spiritual harmony in married life.

Gau Puja – Worship of the Sacred Cow

Gau Puja honors the sacredness of the cow, revered in Hindu tradition as Gau Mata (Mother Cow). Worship and service to the cow are believed to bring divine blessings, prosperity, and spiritual merit.

Scriptures say that through Gau Seva (service to cows) one may receive:

• Wealth and prosperity
• Removal of obstacles and hardships
• Relief from debts
• Blessings for children
• Divine grace

Service offered to the mother cow is considered direct service to Lord Krishna, the eternal protector of cows.

🌱 Supporting the Future of Our Cow Sanctuary

This sacred event is also a fundraising initiative to help Sri Surabhi Go Ksetra purchase a permanent home for our cows in the East Bay.

Currently, 18 cows and 13 bulls are living in a temporary shelter. Although they are well cared for, they require more land to graze freely and live naturally together, in alignment with sustainable and compassionate cow care.

Our goal is to raise $2 million to purchase permanent land for their sanctuary.

All proceeds from this event will go directly toward making this vision a reality.

Those who have visited or volunteered at the Gaushala know how loving and gentle our cows are. Serving them is truly a blessing. Their subtle protection and grace accompany us in our lives, and this is a sacred opportunity for us to give back.
